Welcome! Hi, I am Laura, a qualified Counsellor and Psychotherapist dedicated to providing counselling services that enhance confidence and self-worth while offering vital mental health support.
Having experienced anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, work-related stress, family difficulties, loss, loneliness, shame, abuse, and grief myself, I understand how overwhelming these feelings can be. They can significantly affect your life, and I recognize how daunting it can feel to seek mental health support through counselling services. You may have many questions right now; perhaps you're unsure if counselling is the right choice for you, or if you did pursue it, what you would say or how it works. I still remember the anxiety I felt when I first reached out for support, but taking that step can help improve your confidence and self-worth.
Within counselling, there are many modalities that provide valuable mental health support. You may have heard of some of them, such as Person Centred/Humanistic or Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). While some counsellors practice in one specific modality or style of counselling, this can sometimes lead to limitations in addressing your unique needs. I am trained in Pluralistic therapy, which allows me to draw from a variety of modalities, including Psychodynamic, Humanistic, and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. The benefit of being a Pluralistic counsellor is that I have a broader range of “tools” in my toolbox to help you build your confidence and self-worth as you begin your journey. As therapy progresses, I can adapt my approach to meet your changing needs. One size does not fit all, and I strive to provide counselling services that are as unique as you are.
